About the Guild
The Woodworker's Guild of Rhode Island was started in October of 1997 by two people, and we now have about 70 members. We plan to continue to grow to gain the strength necessary to provide an exciting program for its members. The membership is limited to people interested in woodworking and wood as an artistic material. This can be accomplished in any means that the person wishes and the members vary from new beginners to old experts. This refers to their experience as well as age. We have members who carve, some turn wood on a lathe, some make furniture. This includes hand tools, power tools, inlay, marquettry, bowls, sculptures, cabinets, etc. Woodworking offers the opportunity for expression in so many different forms, it captures woodworking enthusiasts for life.

Thomas Denton (www.34TimeWW.com)
has been working in wood for over 35 years.
After retiring from a successful career as a hospital executive, Tom began woodworking full time in 2008. He designs and builds fine handmade furniture through his company "3/4 Time Woodworking".
His specialty is handcrafting furniture using a variety of domestic and exotic hardwoods. Lately, Tom has been specializing in handcrafted, one-of-a-kind, beds. However, he also builds dining tables, dressers, chests of drawers, sideboards and other major pieces.
Whether it is a piece from inventory or a custom piece designed specifically for your home, Tom brings the same attention to detailed craftsmanship to all his work.
